Friends of Scouting
As the wonderful ending to Forest Witcraft's Scouting poem goes:
"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a youth."
The Scouting program in the Old Hickory Council is patterned after that same time-tested program of character development, citizenship training and moral and physical fitness, that has made it the premiere leadership training ground for our countries best and brightest.
The Old Hickory Council is 100% funded by public donations through the United Way, our annual popcorn sale, and direct donations from our Friends of Scouting givers.
The generosity of our Friends of Scouting givers fills the gap between what we receive through activity and camp use fees, and United Way monies, and what it actually costs to run a top-notch program.
We invite you to stand up and be counted by becoming a Friends of Scouting supporter. Just click on the link below and print the Friends of Scouting card. Then, complete it and send it with your pledge or payment information to the Old Hickory Council at 6600 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
