     Many understand the BSA’s significant role in shaping the character of the youth who participate in Scouting. There is also an important story to tell about the positive impact Scouting has on the entire family.  For 100 years, Scouting has provided an outlet for families to build a strong foundation in shared activities and values. In many families, the experience of Scouting is so meaningful that a tradition is handed down from generation to generation. Some families who are experiencing Scouting for the first time know it is something so meaningful they will share it again and again as their family grows.

The Old Hickory Council is currently gathering information about Scouting families of all kinds– visit the Generations Connection page atwww.scouting.org/100years, and click on “Sharing Your Generational Scouting Family Story.”  You can tell your story and print an attractive, personalized BSA 100th Anniversary Generational Scouting Family certificate that you can frame and display.
