National Hall of Leadership -
Nominate Your Favorite "Scouting Hero"

As part of the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, the BSA has announced the "National Hall of Leadership".  This recognition is designed to allow anyone to share stories about Scouts, Scout leaders, or other Scouting volunteers which demonstrate outstanding Scouting leadership through selfless and extraordinary acts of service.  More specifically, each story should be about how an individual made/makes a significant difference in the lives of others by the extraordinary service they have given and the Scouting virtues they have modeled. Thanks go out to the many great volunteers who entered nominations during the Hall of Leadership nomination submission period.
Nominations for the Hall of Leadership have closed, with the twelve individuals chosen by the Old Hickory Council judges listed below. Southern Community Bank has agreed to sponsor a 30 second television spot produced by WXII for each of the nominees. The spots will be filmed during June, July & August of 2010. We will post the clips next to the nominees name as they are made available.
Locally all 12 semifinalists will be recognized at the "Shining Light" event to be held at the BB&T Ballpark (Winston-Salem Dash stadium) on July 31st, 2010, and have their stories placed in local publications and in other media. All nominations made will be recognized on the district level at roundtables and local anniversary events.
