A Year of Celebration -
A Century of Making a Difference

Patch Recognition Program for Scouts & Scouters

We want every Scout, adult leader, and Scouting alum to have a chance to be part of our biggest milestone yet—our 100th Anniversary Celebration. We want to fire up the passion for Scouting while giving everyone an opportunity to make a difference … and earn recognition.
Through A Year of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference, we will do just that. Individuals can earn a 100th Anniversary patch by demonstrating dedication to five of Scouting’s core values—leadership, achievement, community service, character, and the outdoors.
Participants can earn patch segments in each category. The program will be both fun and engaging and, most important, will show America the impact that Scouting makes through its commitment to these values. A Year of Celebration will be in effect from Sept. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2010.
To earn the awards, Scouts must demonstrate personal growth and teamwork. Adults  and alumni must teach skills and become involved in Scouting activities. Specific requirements for each patch segment can be downloaded by clicking on thisYear of Celebration Requirements link .
Locally individuals can also earn the right to purchase a specially designed 100th Anniversary belt buckle when they've earned all the patch segments and participated in some of the events our council will be having.
A local Achievement Record Card will be provided to all Scouters and Scouts to track completed local events.100th Anniversary Belt Buckle requirements can be downloaded by clicking this link. Once a card is successfully completed it will need to be turned in to the Scout Center where the belt buckles will be available.
Through this celebration element, we will impact our communities and raise awareness of the values we teach as we celebrate a century of living by the Scout Law. So download the patch & buckle requirements and record card today and get ready to get started on September 1st!
