Youth Protection Training

This training program, designed for adults, explores the various forms of child abuse and better prepares leaders to recognize abuse when it occurs. The program includes a video presentation and a discussion guide and is available through your district training committee.

Online youth protection training is also available from National BSA.  Just follow thislink.

You can read more about the BSA policies on Youth Protection by following this link to thenational office.

There are also age-appropriate training videos that can be shown to your youth members, "It happened to me" for Cub Scouts, "A time to tell" for Boy Scouts, and "Personal Safety Awareness" for Venturing age young men and women. Additionally, the Learning for Life division has made a video patterned after "A time to tell" for middle school age boys and girls. These videos are available to be checked out through your District Executive or council office.

The Learning for Life video is currently being shown to all middle school age children in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System as a part of their efforts to better educate young people about ways to protect themselves from abusive situations.
