Sea Scouts

Founded in 1912—just two years after the Boy Scouts of America—Sea Scouts emphasizes boating skills and safety within the BSA framework. Sea Scouts, focus on boating instead of camping, they elect boatswains instead of senior patrol leaders, and they are supported by Skippers instead of Scoutmasters. Sea Scouts is a co-ed program for youth ages 14-21. For more program information about Sea Scouts, BSA visit SeaScouts.org

Old Hickory Council is home to two Sea Scout Ships, both based in Winston-Salem, NC. Call the program director listed on the right for more information about local programs.
